KAYLEENA DICKARD, MA, LPC,ADHD-CCSP
Kayleena is a licensed professional counselor who earned her masters in clinical mental health counseling from the Ohio State University. Kayleena believes that the rewarding work of counseling can only occur within a therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety and respect.
Kayleena works with her cilents to create an individualized treatment plan and tailors her approach and technique to clients’ unique needs. She uses an integrated approach, drawing from several modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR and motivational interviewing, all from a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens.
Kayleena is passionate about providing a safe, welcoming, affirming and supportive space for those in the LGBTQIA community. She enjoys helping her clients navigate and heal from trauma and working with teens and their families to navigate family discord, and safely manage suicidal thoughts and self-harm.
In addition to psychotherapy, Kayleena also offers ADHD assessment and diagnostic services. Kayleena has experience providing diagnostic assessments for a variety of concerns and is a certified ADHD clinical services provider.
While these are Kayleena’s areas of expertise, she is experienced in working with clients with a wide array of symptoms and stressors. She has experience counseling children, teens and adults from many different backgrounds, values and belief systems, religious and spiritual identities, and she welcomes all. She has spent time in private practice, school-based counseling and outpatient counseling. Kayleena’s experience extends to community settings including work with National non-profit Kesem- supporting kids through and beyond a parents’ cancer, as an educator and trainer for The Ohio State University Suicide Prevention Program, and as a member and team lead for community-level trauma response.
