
KAYLEENA DICKARD, MA, LPC
Kayleena is a licensed professional counselor who earned her masters in clinical mental
health counseling from the Ohio State University. Kayleena believes that the rewarding
work of counseling can only occur within a therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety,
and respect.
Kayleena works with her clients to create an individualized treatment plan and tailors
her approach and techniques to clients’ unique needs. She uses an integrated
approach, drawing from several modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and motivational
interviewing all from a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens.
Kayleena is passionate about providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive space for
those in the LGBTQIA community. She enjoys helping her clients navigate and heal
from trauma and working with teens and their families to safely manage suicidal
thoughts and self-harm.
While these are Kayleena’s areas of expertise, she is experienced in working with a
wide variety of clients and presenting concerns. She has experience counseling
children, teens, and adults from many different backgrounds, values and belief systems,
religious and spiritual identities, and she welcomes all. She has spent time in private
practice, school-based counseling, and outpatient counseling. Kayleena’s experience
extends to community settings including work with the National non-profit Kesem –
supporting kids through and beyond a parents’ cancer, as an educator and trainer for
the Ohio State University Suicide Prevention Program, and as a member and team lead
for county-level trauma response. Much of her experience has involved helping to treat
