Kayleena Brashear, MA, LPC
Kayleena is a licensed professional counselor who is passionate about helping others in their journey toward personal growth and a better quality of life.
Kayleena uses a client-centered approach to provide a safe and welcoming space where the difficult work of counseling can take place. She believes that each client is unique and works to provide counseling that is individualized. Through sessions she draws from evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral and relaxation/mindfulness techniques as well as others to assist the client in developing positive patterns of thought, behavior, and coping.
Kayleena’s experience includes school-based mental health work with middle and high school students with a variety of presenting concerns including suicidal ideation, sexual orientation, identity exploration, grief, changing family dynamics, adapting to life stressors, depression, and anxiety. Kayleena also has experience working as an assistant teacher and childcare provider for children from six weeks to sixth grade. Kayleena has over 6 years of experience working with children from 6 through 18 and their families who have been impacted by parental cancer through the national non-profit, Kesem. Through Kesem, Kayleena has also had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of undergraduate students.
Kayleena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from the Ohio State University. Kayleena is currently pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education.
Kayleena provides counseling sessions in the Worthington office.
